This was supposed to be my entry
to the "SHELL NATIONAL ARTS COMPETITION 1996"...,
when the controversial issues about the gay politicians and soldiers
came out...
It was left unfinished because i have thought of more interesting
compositions regarding the same subject.... it was like an "orgy-type" scene, more inviting, but avoiding a pornographic appeal....
I think the title of that painting, which was also done in watercolor,
was "Join na...Sali na... Harurot na..."
We registered it under the name of my bestfriend, Arnold Bonquin, because I lacked in some units which were required for the competition...
The controversial title was also suggested by him....
The painting made it to the finals, was exhibited in Glorietta, and was bought by an anonymous buyer.... My friend told me that it was the "talk-of-the-town" and a head-turner while it was still in exhibit.., as it drew lots of crowd around it....
